Permanently and stably nutrient-using bacteria start working and multiplying within a short time after contact with the water. They remove nutrients from the algae – in particular phosphate – from the water and are therefore effective against unwanted algae in the aquarium using the principle of nutrient competition. The growth of algae is inhibited and the algae population is permanently reduced. An algae outbreak is prevented in case of prophylactic use.
