In addition to intricate multi-stage filtration, the FX Series incorporates a water change system and a tray design within each basket to provide greater filter media capacity. Known for its strength and durability, the FX6 delivers 3,500 LPH of water output in aquariums up to 3,000 gallons. This type of energy sweeps the tank better and faster, collecting a greater amount of waste, which ultimately results in a lower frequency of maintenance.

Multi-stage filtration

The latest generation of FX incorporates 2 new additional stages for greater filtration capacity and flexibility. The FX4 has up to 5 stages of filtration and the FX6 has up to 6 stages, ensuring optimal water quality.

The media baskets are the heart of Fluval’s multi-stage filtration. These very large capacity baskets hold a large volume of media and also allow you to load the media with a custom combination of layers that work best for your aquarium. These feature T-shaped instant lift handles that allow you to lift and detach each basket easily and very quickly, making regular maintenance easier.

For each maintenance and purging of the cartridge.

The FX series has a multifunctional drain valve at the base, so it is possible to empty the filter and make the water change without interruption by draining and filling the water directly from the filter (and all this without disturbing the decoration or the inhabitants of the aquarium).
