Micro fertilizer for aquarium plants
Description
Fluval Micro Nutrients for plants are the perfect supplements to ensure the strength of the natural plants that we grow in our aquariums. These supplements are very easy to use, so it won’t take us a minute to carry out a task that will make the plants grow healthy, strong and with all the color. This supplement will make the plants recover the essential nutrients, they are also enriched with iron, which will give health, shine and color to the plants and with vitamin B. They are ideal for use in planted aquariums, but only suitable for planted freshwater aquariums. With a simple touch of plant micronutrients, we will promote a bright, colorful and vibrant aquarium interior.
Uses of Fluval Micronutrients
Complete micronutrient supplement to give plants the essential elements for healthy condition, good color and growth
To provide essential nutrients to plants that are lacking in tap water, as well as to replace those absorbed by the plants
At a higher frequency in CO2 supplemented planted aquariums and high-performance lighting systems, as determined using the Nutrafin Iron Test Kit
Plant Nutrient Requirements and Photosynthesis
Plant nutrient requirements are driven by the rate of photosynthesis. This is a light-driven process in which carbon dioxide is absorbed and oxygen is released. During the process of photosynthesis, water and carbon dioxide are involved in a chemical reaction in the presence of light within chlorophyll to produce simple sugars, followed by further reactions within the plant.
The rate of photosynthesis is greatly affected by light intensity, carbon dioxide availability and temperature. Because the rate of photosynthesis is so variable, so is the plant’s need for major and minor nutrients. If major and minor nutrients are not available to the plant as needed, growth rates and conditions will decline. Measuring iron will give a basic idea of when it is necessary to re-supplement with Fluval Micro Nutrients enriched with iron, the target concentration is to maintain 0.3 mg/L.
Natural Environments vs. Tap Water
Natural waters, where common tropical aquarium plants evolved, are often fed by groundwater sources that are rich in a variety of nutrients, both major and minor. Many tropical regions contain aquatic biotopes that include a red clay substrate, which is often rich in iron. Other trace elements such as manganese, copper, zinc and boron, along with iron, are directly involved in the molecular structure of enzymes that are important for the chemical reactions that occur during plant metabolism. If any of these trace elements are missing, then there is a good chance that some or all of the aquatic plants in an aquarium will develop deficiency problems that usually result in poor growth and conditions.
Tap water that has undergone numerous purification processes, many of which are not good for plants and fish, is often deficient in trace elements that are needed by plants. Sterile tap water and the fact that aquariums are established, closed environments that need periodic replenishment of trace elements are important factors in supporting the regular use of properly formulated supplements and conditioners, such as those found in the Fluval line of liquids. Certain beneficial chemical filtration methods that promote water quality for fish are often responsible for the depletion of essential trace elements for plants, another reason why regular supplementation is so important.
Cofactors
Although aquatic plants synthesize all the organic substances necessary for growth from inorganic elements such as carbon, nitrogen and phosphorus, there are scientific studies that have shown remarkable improvements in growth rates when specific cofactors are present. These cofactors are the B vitamins: thiamine, cobalamin and biotin.
In addition to supporting improved plant growth, thiamine (vitamin B1), for example, has been implicated in new studies in aquatic plants in ways that help improve the function of Systemic Acquired Resistance in plants, a key factor in disease resistance.
The enhancement of Fluval Micronutrients by being fortified with iron takes this effective nutritional supplement to a new level. Proper plant nutrition is not about concentrated products, but about the right ingredients in a stabilized form.
Healthy plants grow with Fluval micronutrients
We can make our planted freshwater aquariums have a much more leafy presence thanks to micronutrients, but we will also make sure that plants that have not been in the aquarium for a long time have strong and stable growth. The use of micronutrients for new plants is essential. This will allow us to make sure that the best conditions are given for the new plants to adapt perfectly to the aquariums and thus make them last longer and look splendid from day one.
Decorate aquariums with bright and colorful plants thanks to micronutrients
Plants are a great way to decorate aquariums. When we have a planted aquarium with natural plants we can find ourselves in the situation where the plants do not have enough color, brightness or foliage, and end up ruining the aquarium instead of decorating it. With micronutrients we will ensure that the aquarium plants grow very strong and healthy, giving the aquarium as a whole that characteristic shine and color. We will also make the plants healthy and last much longer, which will be great both for the view and decoration as well as for the health of the aquarium itself.
Main characteristics and benefits of Fluval Micronutrients for plants (Plant Gro)
The new Fluval Micro Nutrients formula enriched with iron has been significantly enriched with cofactors. Cofactors such as those found in the vitamin B group and which are provided by Iron-Enriched Plant Micronutrients are thiamine, cobalamin and biotin, which significantly enhance and improve plant growth, condition and resistance to disease.
All trace elements, except boron, are chelated, to ensure that they remain stable in solution and are available for absorption by plants, regardless of the pH level.
Provides an optimal dose of 0.3mg/l of chelated iron. Planted aquariums using high-performance lighting systems and CO2 supplements should maintain 0.5 mg/L of chelated iron.
